Young Musicians Festival – April 15

Do you have students looking for solo or small ensemble performing opportunities?  Consider the annual Young Musicians Festival, sponsored by The Arts Inc., in Evanston on April 15th.

The festival is open to music students of all ages, including adults.  It’s a great opportunity for high school students to perform and receive professional feedback before heading to District Festival.  For middle school students, who don’t often get a chance to perform in an adjudication setting, it’s a great preparation for high school.

Piano – Dr. Scott Holden, chairman of keyboard studies at BYU
Strings – James Arbizu, professional orchestra director and violinist
Band – Rob Verdi, professional saxophonist and star of his entertaining show, “Saxophobia”

Registration:
We keep our registration fee low ($10) to include as many students as possible.  Our easy, online registration is now open.  We also have printable paper forms if needed.  They actually make a good information page to send home to parents with a letter.

Most participants choose to compete for place ribbons or scholarships to the annual MAT Camp, held in July in Evanston.  The performance routine is the same for non-competitors.

Based on recommendations by the clinicians, some participants will be chosen to perform in a concert for the public on the evening of April 15th.

Our website has much more festival information, and you can feel free to email me with any questions you have.
