Northwest Guitar Summit

November 13, 2015 - November 14, 2015

The 2nd Annual Northwest Guitar Summit, held on the campus of Northwest College, includes workshops for both teachers and students by two of the most respected guitarists in our region.

Michael Videon is the head of the classical guitar department at Montana State University in Bozeman, and Corey Christiansen is the head of the guitar department at Utah State University. Michael and Corey are highly respected as both performers and educators, and their differing stylistic approaches to the guitar will provide a diverse learning experience for everyone in attendance.

The summit will start with a Friday evening concert at 7:00 PM (November 13th) on campus. Workshop sessions will begin the next morning on Saturday the 14th. There will be two sessions in the morning followed by lunch (provided), and one session in the afternoon. Following the afternoon session will be a round-table discussion for teachers, while the students will participate in some kind of fun activity. We will wrap everything up by around 4:00 PM.

All guitar educators, and students junior-high age and above, are welcome. Please feel free to invite anyone in your communities interested in guitar to attend as well. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as the guitar community in our region; to expand our knowledge, share ideas, and learn from each other.
