Kinser Jazz Festival 2019

About headliners: We at the Kinser Jazz Festival are very pleased to announce that the Wyoming All-State Jazz Choir will be opening for The Manhattan Transfer on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 7:00PM in the John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School. As I’m sure most of you know, The Manhattan Transfer is one of the longest-standing jazz groups and one of the best-known vocal jazz groups. Their new album, The Junction, was released in March and also they released a PBS special with another KJF alumni, Take Six. We know this concert is going to be a special one that you and your students talk about for years. Our online ticket sales are now open and can be found at www.caspercollegejazz.com. As usual, we will hold comp tickets for the All-State Jazz Choir students. Tickets for students will be $15 and tickets for adults will be $25. Seating will be general admission. 

 

About lodging: We have arranged for there to be a block of rooms at the Ramkota Hotel https://ramkotacasper.com for Kinser Jazz Festival participants. When you make your reservation, tell them you are here for the festival and they will offer you the special rate of $83 which includes their full breakfast buffet. This is where our headliners and adjudicators are also staying so, it’s possible you may run into them over breakfast or after the festival each day. 

 

About student performances: As we did last year, all performances will be in the Wheeler Concert Hall with a thirty-minute clinic in a separate room. You may leave your coats and cases in these rooms, again. We hope you and your students will hang around to hear some of the other groups perform and learn from the on-stage clinics.
