About the Clinician

Camille Blackburn has been the Director of Choral Music at Hillcrest High School in Ammon, Idaho since the school opened in 1992.  Previously she was the Choral Director at Bonneville High School in Idaho Falls.  Camille has taught private voice at the collegiate level and in her studio.  She has knowledge and experience with all ages and levels of singers, having taught junior high level and directed children’s and adult community and church choirs.

Camille is a graduate of the University of Idaho with a B. of Music in Choral Music Education and Northern Arizona University with a M. of Music in Vocal Performance.  She is an accomplished pianist and is sought after throughout the Northwest as an adjudicator and accompanist. Camille’s choirs regularly receive Superior ratings and have been selected to perform for Idaho All State Conferences and NAfME NW Division Conferences.

Serving the profession has been a priority in Camille’s career, as Idaho All State Honor Group Chair for numerous Conferences, Idaho Music Educators Association President, and NAfME Northwest Division President.  Camille has received the following recognitions; Hillcrest High School Teacher of the Year/2011, Idaho Music Educators Teacher of the Year/2011, Idaho ACDA Choral Director of the Year/2015, Veterans of Foreign Wars Teacher of the Year/2016, NAfME NW Division Music Leadership Award/2017, and National Federation of High Schools Outstanding Music Educator Award/2017-2018.
